Sardines and Pilchards
Sardines/Pilchards confused? What’s the difference?
Pilchards are commonly bought in tins covered in tomato sauce, sardines however are more commonly presented beautifully laid out in Mediterranean restaurants served with exotic salads but they are in fact the same fish! Up to 150mm they are sardines, larger than that they are known as pilchards.
