  • Step forward The Singleton™ of Dufftown, a new 12 year old single malt Scotch whisky from Speyside, which delivers one of the smoothest tastes of any single malt Scotch whisky on the market, and is set to be a big seller this Christmas.  The secret of this exceptional smoothness?  Longer fermentation, slow distillation and the use of a highly revered water of exceptional quality, behind which, is an intriguing story renowned in whisky lore.

As for its taste, the sweet fruity notes in this fine malt are produced from fermentation in a unique balance of European (sherry) and American (bourbon) oak casks.  The sweetness and smoothness impress at first, followed by a hint of blackcurrant fruit and pleasant delayed warmth resulting in a smooth and richly satisfying taste.

Aside from its distinctive smoothness, this new single malt Scotch whisky can also be identified by its blue glass, pebble shaped bottle.  The pebble shape represents the smoothing effect that water has in nature – just as it smoothes pebbles over time, it also smoothes the whisky that it goes into. The blue glass bottle reflects 19th century glass-making traditions, illustrating the strong heritage of the distillery.   So proud are the makers about the smoothness of the whisky and the bottle design, The Singleton™ of Dufftown is sold without a box so its smoothness can be seen in all its glory.
